This week we reach a turning point in Joseph’s story. In Genesis 42–45, Joseph’s brothers travel to Egypt during the famine and unknowingly stand before the brother they once betrayed. Years earlier they believed their actions were buried in the past, but now their conscience begins to awaken. God uses these encounters to bring hidden guilt into the light and begin the slow work of repentance and restoration.

Proverbs 11 reminds us that integrity and humility lead to life, while pride and dishonesty eventually collapse. These contrasts mirror what we see unfolding in Joseph’s family as the brothers begin to confront the consequences of their past choices.

Psalm 63 shifts our focus to the deeper need of the human heart. David writes from the wilderness, expressing a deep thirst for God that cannot be satisfied by anything else. Together these passages remind us that wisdom, repentance, and a heart that longs for God are the foundations of a life that truly flourishes.
