God Promises

As I sit here this morning, praising God for His perfect timing in everything, I cannot help but wonder, how?
How is He able to take all the moving parts in the equation and make them fit at just the right time?
Oh, I know the standard answer, “because He is God.” I do understand that answer, but sometimes I want more. I can read the standard passages in Scripture like Ecclesiastes 3:1: “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” Or 2 Peter 3:8: “But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”
While these verses give comfort, they do not answer my “how” question. So I dig some more, to the point of asking Google. Google states that “God’s timing is perfect because He is sovereign, omniscient, and exists outside of time, allowing Him to orchestrate events for our ultimate good and His purpose.”
I may never understand the “how” to all this, but what I understand is He is God and He is in control. He knows my future. He knows my past. He knows me right here and right now.
He does not offer up shame as I question things. He offers hope and comfort. He invites me to rest in His presence as He reminds me of His promises.
He promises that nothing can separate me from His love (Romans 8:35).He promises to protect me (Psalm 91:3).He promises healing (1 Peter 2:24).He promises to give me peace (Isaiah 26:3).He promises purpose in my pain (James 1:2-3).
I could go on and on with His promises, but I will end with this one:
He promises to comfort me (2 Corinthians 1:4-5).
I hold deeply to this one as I navigate life. It is not an easy life, and I may never know how it all works, but I do know He comforts me.
