Let the Words of My Mouth: Learning to Walk Slowly With God

woman in nature

“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.” Psalm 19:14

As I sit here this morning, reading my devotions, preparing my Bible study for church, and praying over everything I am working on, the Lord keeps gently reminding me to move slowly and steadily.

He is reminding me that depth matters more to Him than breadth. To go deeper, not wider, in my studies.

So I am learning to condense everything down into what He has actually called me to.

He has called me to WRBP as the prayer and encouragement minister. All of my focus on Him is centered around that calling.

It looks like in-depth study of His Word. Devotion time spent reading slowly. Bible study at church, working carefully and faithfully through passages so that glory is brought to His name. Prayers that stay centered on Scripture, guided by the Holy Spirit. Worship that sometimes comes through tears, offered back to my Lord and Savior.

I keep returning to the passage that shapes who I am and how I want to walk before Him.

“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.”

Without Him, I am nothing. It is He who gives me the strength to keep moving forward. Everything I do is for His glory, not for the praise of man, but for Him alone.

I will follow the path He has laid out for me, because He is with me. I may make plans, but His plans are always greater. He leads me through them and gently nudges me back onto His path when I start to stumble.

He is such a gracious Savior.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, or pulled in too many directions, hear this encouragement. If you need to slow down and condense, He will help you do that. Call out to Him. Watch Him work it all out and bring everything together for His glory.
