Slowing Down Into the Care of a Faithful Father

The hustle and bustle of the holiday season is now behind us. I find myself slowing down into a place of peace and comfort that comes from my Father above. He relaxes me as I lean more and more into Him and His Word. He calms my nerves and helps me keep my focus on Him. He reminds me to breathe and to enjoy His creation. As the birds chirp outside, I am reminded of His Word that tells me the birds do not worry (Matthew 6:25–34).
He takes care of them, and I am so much more important to Him than the birds. I thank Him for His gentle reminders and ask His forgiveness for the times I am ungrateful.
I find myself talking with Him and praying more boldly, more effortlessly, and more consistently. Slowing down always grounds me and brings me back to my Rock, Jesus. As I open my Bible and read His Word, digging deeper into what I am reading, I gain clarity. It is in this clarity that His life is reflected through me.
He is the calm in any storm I face. He brings peace into situations that are outside of my control. He reminds me that He is in control and that through Him all things are possible. He gently guides me back to His promises found in His Word, and I thank Him once again for loving me and for always caring for me.
No matter what we are facing, He is with us, and He will get us through it in His way and in His timing. If you find yourself weary, anxious, or needing to slow down too, I invite you to pause for a moment. Step outside. Listen. Open His Word. Let Him remind you, just as He reminds me, that you are seen, cared for, and held by a faithful Father.
